Jenny Barrow
Inclusion and Diversity Expert, Speaker, Mentor, Researcher and Consultant
Jenny Barrow has been working in the field of Inclusion & Diversity for over 15 years, including for the last 4 years as the age expert in residence for Renegade Generation. Throughout her career, she has worked with senior leaders, managers and teams to equip them to build inclusive cultures, ultimately leading to improved organisational performance.
Jenny’s strengths lie in senior stakeholder management, working with executives to build inclusion into their leadership and operational cultures. She is a highly experienced leader in designing and delivering equality, diversity & inclusion strategies with an action-oriented, outcomes focused approach.
Jenny’s clients include a wide range of financial services, insurance and media firms as well as public sector, academia and not-for-profit organisations.
Work includes developing D&I strategies, group facilitation, public speaking, inclusive leadership and management training, D&I diagnosis to help organisations assess the D&I opportunities open to them, as well as research and writing.
She is the co-author of a number of reports including the 2022 HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter Annual Review, The Evolving Role of the D&I Function, Accelerating Black Inclusion in Financial Services and the Inclusion@Lloyd’s Data Collection toolkit.
Jenny was Head of Corporate Responsibility for the Financial Conduct Authority, a role she held for over 4 years. She developed and implemented the regulator’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy which included responsibility for discharging the FCA’s duties under the Public Sector Equality Duty.
Previously, Jenny spearheaded the Diversity & Inclusion function at the global law firm Baker McKenzie.
Jenny is member of the Advisory Group Fair By Design, a movement dedicated to ending the poverty premium and is the D&I advisor to the Shipping & Maritime sector’s Diversity Study Group. She is also a Member of the Alternative Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust for Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Alternative Provision, and specialist settings.
